Learn how to use Artilora's BOM (Bill of Materials) feature to generate detailed material lists for your product designs.
What is BOM?
BOM (Bill of Materials) is a detailed technical document that lists all materials, components, and specifications needed to manufacture a product. In Artilora, BOM helps you:
- Automatically identify materials from your design images
- Generate structured material lists with specifications
- Calculate costs based on material price database
- Export professional PDF documents for production
Getting Started with BOM
Step 1: Create Your Design
- Design your product on the Artilora canvas
- Generate or upload product images
- Ensure your design clearly shows the product details
Step 2: Generate BOM
- Select an image on your canvas that contains a product design
- Click the "BOM" button that appears above the image
- Artilora will automatically:
- Identify the product type
- Detect materials and components
- Generate a preliminary material list
Step 3: Review and Edit
- Review the auto-generated material list
- Edit materials: Add, remove, or modify material entries
- Specify quantities: Set the amount needed for each material
- Add specifications: Include dimensions, weights, grades, etc.
- Add notes: Include special requirements or production notes
BOM Components
Product Information
- Product Name: Name of your design
- Product Type: Category (jewelry, accessories, etc.)
- Design Number: Unique identifier for your design
- Design Image: Reference image from your canvas
Material List
Each material entry includes:
- Material Type: Metal, gemstone, component, etc.
- Specifications: Purity, grade, size, color, etc.
- Quantity: Amount needed
- Unit Price: From the material price database
- Total Cost: Automatically calculated
Process Description
- Manufacturing Processes: Casting, setting, polishing, plating, etc.
- Technical Parameters: Hardness, density, melting point, etc.
- Quality Standards: Industry standards and requirements
Dimensions and Structure
- Detailed Dimensions: Length, width, height, diameter, etc.
- Structure Description: Assembly method, connections, etc.
- Technical Drawings: Annotations and measurements
Advanced Features
Manual BOM Creation
If AI recognition doesn't work or you prefer manual entry:
- Click on an image on your canvas
- Select "Create BOM Manually"
- Fill in all material information manually
- System will auto-fill prices from the material database
Batch BOM Generation
- Select multiple product images on your canvas
- Click "Batch Generate BOM"
- Review and edit each BOM individually
- Export all BOMs together
BOM History
- View all previously created BOMs
- Edit existing BOMs
- Duplicate BOMs for similar products
- Compare BOMs side-by-side
Exporting BOM
PDF Export
- Open your BOM
- Click "Export PDF"
- Choose export format:

AI Recognition Not Working
